A personal message from the Conference Chair

On behalf of the ECSM 2019 organising committee, I am delighted to welcome you to the 6th European Conference on Social Media at the University of Brighton. Our city has a  population of 290,000 of which around 40,000 are students. As such Brighton is a vibrant and artistic city. Sometimes called “London-by-the-sea” because of its coastal location and proximity to the capital, the city is a centre for digital marketing, internet and social media organisations. Companies like Brandwatch and Jellyfish find Brighton provides the perfect atmosphere for their employees, and vloggers like Zoella and PewDiePie call Brighton home. ECSM 2019 will offer you the ideal opportunity to experience Brighton, network with academics and practitioners, exchange ideas and develop new insights. We look forward to seeing you in Brighton in 2019!
