Welcome to ECSM 2020
The European Conference on Social Media was established 7 years ago in Brighton and has subsequently been held in Portugal, France, Lithuania and Ireland. The conference has attracted participants from more than 40 countries and been attended by a combination of academic scholars, public sector workers, practitioners and individuals who are engaged in various aspects of the social media industry. A number of journals are selecting papers from the conference for further development and publication.
ECSM is an event which brings like-minded researchers together from across the world. This year the global covid-19 pandemic has caused the event to move online where participants will meet in a virtual space to share their research and discuss issues including the use and development of social media in all areas.
Personal Message from the Conference Chairs
On behalf of the ECSM 2020 organising committee, I am delighted to welcome you to the 7th European Conference on Social Media at the University of Central Lancashire, Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus). Our island country is famous for its exceptional hospitality, blue flag beaches, and outstanding Mediterranean cuisine. Situated at the crossroads of three continents – Europe, Asia, and Africa – the island's unique geographic position played an integral part in the development of its long history and rich culture that spans 10,000 years, making it one of the oldest civilizations in the Mediterranean. ECSM 2020 will offer you the ideal opportunity to experience Cyprus, network with academics and practitioners, exchange ideas and develop new insights. We look forward to seeing you in Larnaka in 2020!
