University Information

This conference is organized by Ipazia, the Scientific Observatory on the Gender Issues and Roma Tre School of Economics and Business Studies. Ipazia is based at the University Niccolò Cusano and aims to providing a complete and up-to-date picture of the current research, services and initiatives that highlight the condition of women at a local, national and supranational level. With this aim, the observatory organises and promotes scientific activities on gender studies in a broad sense. Ipazia builds a network of collaboration with many universities including Rome Tre University, where the International Conference on Gender Research will be hosted.

At Rome Tre University the School of Economics and Business Studies is an organization aimed to support, co-ordinate and promote two of the University’s Departments: the Department of Economics and the Department of Business Studies. Both Departments are based on a multidisciplinary approach that covers a wide range of administrative, economic, legal and quantitative topics.

Local Information

Roma Tre University is located in the Ostiense area, in the south of the city of Rome; just minutes away from the historical centre of Rome. The University buildings are easily reachable by underground (Metro – San Paolo stop).

Rome is a city rich of archaeological and historical sites; the city itself is an open air museum, in which tourists can discover ancient roman ruins (like Coliseum or Roman Forum), but also Renaissance’s treasures (like Sistine Chapel or “Pietà” by Michelangelo) or more “modern” XIX century’s masterpieces (as the Church of San Paolo Fuori le Mura, close to the Roma Tre University).
