University Information

The Autonomous University of Barcelona is a public university mostly located in Cerdanyola del Vallès, near the city of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. As of 2012, the university consists of 57 departments in the experimental, life, social and human sciences, spread among 13 faculties/schools.

Local Information

Barcelona is the second most populated municipality of Spain located in the northeastern coast. Founded as a Roman city, Barcelona remains a city with rich cultural heritage and a major tourist destination. With renowned Architectural works with several designated UNESCO heritage sites, the city is home to 2 distinguished universities. Barcelona is also known for being the main biotech hub in Spain as well as being a major cultural, economic, and financial centre in Southwest Europe. A large modern metropolis, Barcelona has one of the largest seaports and one of the busiest European passenger port! A high-speed rail line links the city to France and the rest of Europe making Barcelona a great travel destination.

Getting to ICGR

The conference venue is on the edge of Barcelona and all the events will take place in this neighbourhood. 

From Barcelona Airport by train to the venue takes approximately 1 hour and costs approximately €6.

From Barcelona Airport by taxi to the venue takes approximately 20 minutes and costs approximately €35.

Suggested local hotels can be seen in the table below. The main conference hotel will be highlighted in green.

This is usually the most convenient to the conference venue and is usually where pre-conference drinks are held.

Virtual Presentations

There is an option to present your work virtually. Virtual presentations will take place on Zoom, details of the virtual room links will be sent close to the conference date. There will be a check-in session to test your zoom connection prior to the conference. Virtual Participants will have access to the keynotes and all of the virtual presentations.
