Welcome to ECEL 2019

The European Conference on e-Learning was established 18 years ago. It has been held in France, Portugal, England, The Netherlands, Greece and Portugal to mention only a few of the countries who have hosted it. ECEL is generally attended by participants from more than 40 countries and attracts an interesting combination of academic scholars, practitioners and individuals who are engaged in various aspects of e-Learning. Among other journals, the Electronic Journal of e-Learning publishes a special edition of the best papers presented at this conference.

ECEL 2019 is being hosted by Aalborg University, Copenhagen, Denmark.  This conference will also host the 5th e-Learning Excellence Awards.

A personal message from the Conference Chair

We are looking forward to welcoming participants to Aalborg University, Copenhagen, Denmark on the 7th-8th November 2019 for the 18th European Conference on e-Learning. We have been followers of the conference for many years and have always enjoyed the opportunity to share ideas and network with a diverse group of ECEL participants. This year in Copenhagen, we are excited to showcase our diverse city and institution.

ECEL Publication Opportunities

Papers accepted for ECEL after the double-blind peer review process, will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration and payment.

Additionally, papers that have been presented at the conference will also be considered for further development an possible publication in the journals listed below. Note that journal editors are provided with the conference proceedings and will make selections if they feel work is appropriate and of sufficient quality for the journal. If invited to publish in a journal authors will be expected to develop the work by 40-50%, including a change of title and abstract. Individual journal procedures will need to be followed and there is no guarantee of publication.
