Welcome to ECEL 2023
The European Conference on e-Learning was established 22 years ago. It has been held in France, Portugal, England, The Netherlands, Greece and Portugal to mention only a few of the countries who have hosted it. ECEL is generally attended by participants from more than 40 countries and attracts an interesting combination of academic scholars, practitioners and individuals who are engaged in various aspects of e-Learning. Among other journals, the Electronic Journal of e-Learning publishes a special edition of the best papers presented at this conference.
ECEL 2023 is being hosted by University of South Africa (UNISA). This conference will also host the 9th e-Learning Excellence Awards.
Personal Message from the Conference Chair
As custodians of the higher education journey, we define the future trajectory of the higher education space and the types of journeys that our students would experience while pursuing their degree(s). We are looking forward to welcoming all participants to the University of South Africa. We are excited to share and learn from participants on their journeys and strategies in the e-learning space. This year in South Africa you will experience our hospitality, our culture, and our passion for learning.

Conference Publications
Papers accepted for ECEL after the double-blind peer review process, will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration and payment. Proceedings are accessible here: https://papers.academic-conferences.org/index.php/ecel
Additionally, papers that have been presented at the conference will also be considered for further development and possible publication in the journals listed below. Note that journal editors are provided with the conference proceedings and will make selections if they feel work is appropriate and of sufficient quality for the journal. If invited to publish in a journal authors will be expected to develop the work by 40-50%, including a change of title and abstract. Individual journal procedures will need to be followed and there is no guarantee of publication.
