20th European Conference on e-Learning
28-29 October 2021, A Virtual Conference

Together with the university we have made the decision to run ECEL as a fully virtual conference.  The conference dates will remain 28 – 29 October 2021. The virtual conference will take place using Zoom and be an opportunity to meet participants from around the globe, listen to important keynote presentations and take part in workshops and networking session.

Welcome to ECEL 2021

The European Conference on e-Learning was established 20 years ago. It has been held in France, Portugal, England, The Netherlands, Greece and Portugal to mention only a few of the countries who have hosted it. ECEL is generally attended by participants from more than 40 countries and attracts an interesting combination of academic scholars, practitioners and individuals who are engaged in various aspects of e-Learning. Among other journals, the Electronic Journal of e-Learning publishes a special edition of the best papers presented at this conference.

ECEL 2021 is being hosted by University of Applied Sciences HTW Berlin, Germany.  

This conference will also host the 7th e-Learning Excellence Awards.

Personal Message from the Conference Chairs

Welcome to Berlin and to the University of Applied Sciences HTW Berlin, host of the 20th European Conference on e-Learning (ECEL 2021).

The organizers of ECEL aim to strengthen the debate on e-Learning issues affecting the future of our society and the next generations. Thus, researchers, students, entrepreneurs and all those who wish to contribute to the discussion on the subject are invited to participate in the next ECEL, which will be supported virtually in Germany, by University of Applied Sciences HTW Berlin, on 28 – 29 October 2021.

Conference Publications

Papers accepted for ECEL after the double-blind peer review process, will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration and payment. Additionally, papers that have been presented at the conference will also be considered for further development an possible publication in the journals listed below. Note that journal editors are provided with the conference proceedings and will make selections if they feel work is appropriate and of sufficient quality for the journal. If invited to publish in a journal authors will be expected to develop the work by 40-50%, including a change of title and abstract. Individual journal procedures will need to be followed and there is no guarantee of publication.
