The following are outlines for the Keynote Speeches which will take place at ICTR 2026

Promoting Wellbeing Among Tourism and Hospitality

Led by: Dr. Tânia Gaspar

Tourism and hospitality professionals face a range of persistent and emerging challenges that place their wellbeing at risk, including long and irregular working hours, job insecurity, low wages, emotional labour, and high performance demands. Such conditions pose significant risks to mental health, job satisfaction, and long-term sustainability of the workforce. My keynote speech argues for a comprehensive and shared responsibility approach to promoting wellbeing in tourism and hospitality highlighting the need for healthier organisational practices, inclusive labour policies, ethical digitalisation, and algorithmic transparency to mitigate psychosocial risks and support mental health and wellbeing.

Led by: Dr. Álvaro Lopes Dias
