A personal message from the Conference Chairs

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Jyväskylä for the 11th European Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Finland is globally recognised for its outstanding educational system and for many years our education and our teaching in particular has received worldwide acclaim. Interestingly, a small town in the center of Finland, called Jyväskylä can be regarded as the birthplace of the high quality Finnish teacher education. Even today JAMK Teacher Collegeand the University of Jyväskylä are the most popular institutions for those who want to become teachers. Moreover, promoting entrepreneurship has gained a strong position in Finnish education.

We continuously and actively invest in entrepreneurship. In 2013 the local educational institutions in Jyväskylä created an overarching entrepreneurial strategy, which has been the source of inspiration for JAMK University of Applied Sciences and University of Jyväskylä to co-host ECIE.

Jyväskylä is a vibrant city set around a beautiful lake. In September our city will be colorful with the trees preparing for the coming winter. I promise… (and we Finns like to keep our promises) that during your journey you will have unforgettable experiences. You are warmly welcome!
