The European Conference on Research Methodology in Business and Management (ECRM) is a long-standing academic conference, held annually for 24 years, dedicated to advancing the understanding and application of research methodologies in the fields of business and management. The conference provides a forum for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to share insights, explore new approaches, and discuss the challenges and innovations in research methods. ECRM is known for its rigorous peer-reviewed open access proceedings, ensuring that the research presented meets high academic standards. By covering a wide range of methodological issues and innovations, the conference plays a crucial role in shaping the future of research in business and management, promoting the development of robust and impactful research practices.

In 2026 the 25th European Conference on Research Methodology in Business and Management (ECRM) will be “on tour” in South Africa. The conference will be hosted by the Cape Peninsula University of Technology: CPUT.

On behalf of the organizing committee and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, it is with immense pleasure and excitement that I extend a warm welcome to each of you to the ECRM in 2026. We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting you in our magnificent city of Cape Town, South Africa—a place where vibrant cultures, rich history, and breathtaking natural beauty converge.

Cape Town, as a host city not only has its world-renowned landmarks, from the iconic Table Mountain to its stunning coastlines, but also has a dynamic spirit of innovation and resilience. It is a city that fosters connection and inspires new perspectives, making it the perfect backdrop for the important conversations and collaborations we aim to cultivate during our conference.

Beyond the formal sessions, we encourage you to immerse yourselves in the unique culture and charm of the Mother City. We are planning to run our series of conferences as physical events with the option for participants to join virtually. We urge you to continue to submit your abstracts and papers in line with the published dates (extensions will be granted on request). For more details contact info@academic-conferences.org.

Conference Publications

Papers accepted for the ECRM after the double-blind peer review process, will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration and payment. The conference proceedings have an ISSN ( 2049-0968) and will be assigned an ISBN on publication. Proceedings are accessible here: https://papers.academic-conferences.org/index.php/ecrm

The Editors of the Electronic Journal of Business Research Methods will make selections if they feel work is appropriate and of sufficient quality for the journal. If invited to publish in a journal authors will be expected to develop the work by 40-50%, including a change of title and abstract. Individual journal procedures will need to be followed and there is no guarantee of publication.

Proceedings are submitted for accreditation on publication. Please note that depending on the accreditation body, this process can take several months.
