The conference will address elements of both theory and practice of all aspects of Information Warfare and Security, and offers an opportunity for academics, practitioners and consultants involved in the domain to come together and exchange ideas.  The programme for the event will include an extensive range of peer-reviewed papers, including presentations from leaders in the field.


The ICIW has consistently managed to bring together a variety of people from different countries, backgrounds and experiences.

Papers accepted for the conference will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration and payment.


Selected papers presented at the Conference will be considered for publication in a special issue of the Journal of Information Warfare: http://www.jinfowar.com


Conference Status

An early preliminary programme has now been posted on the Programme webpage. A list of abstracts selected as full papers can now be viewed on the Abstracts Selected page.


The conference organisers have received multiple requests to extend the deadline. The Conference Committee has kindly agreed to extend the Abstract Submission deadline until Monday 26 September 2011 The conference was launched at ICIW 2011 at the George Washington University in Washington, DC, USA. The call for papers closes on 12 September 2011. (extended until 26 September 2011) A summary of important conference details as well as a variety of downloads can be found on the conference At a Glance page. Please read the call for papers page for more details of topics and how to submit to the conference. Additionally the Submission Guidelines page provides useful information and links to such topics as submitting abstracts, papers and posters as well as Presentation Guidelines.


In addition to the main themes, submissions are invited to 4 mini tracks: Information Assurance, chaired by Dr Natarajan Vijayarangan, Tata Consultancy Services, India; The Legal Context/Dimension for IW chaired by Prof Daniel J. Ryan, National Defense University, Washington, DC, USA; Critical Infrastructure Protection chaired by Juan Lopez Jr.,
Center for Cyberspace Research at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Dayton, Ohio, USA, and Asymmetric Warfare in Cyberspace – Prospects and Potentials co-Chaired by Dan Shoemaker, Center for Cybersecurity and Intelligence Studies (CCSIS), at the University of Detroit Mercy, Detroit, Michigan, USA and Ronald C. Dodge, Information and Educational Technology at the United States Military Academy (USMA), West Point, New York, USA.

 

Applications are still being accepted to join the conference committee


Note to Authors: Due to the large number of papers expected for this conference, the committee only allows an author to present one paper. Therefore if multiple papers are accepted for presentation different co-authors need to present each paper. Author registration must be completed by 16 February 2012.
