Dr
Kimiz Dalkir
Kimiz is currently an Associate Professor in the McGill School of Information Studies, where she developed and now coordinates the Knowledge Management stream.  Her book, Knowledge Management in Theory and Practice, has been widely adopted by both the academic and practitioner communities. In 2006, she received the Faculty of Education Excellence in Teaching Prize.  Her most recent research grant is to investigate how knowledge management can be applied to universities.  Prior to joining McGill University, Dr. Dalkir was Director of Global KM Services at DMR Consulting where she was actively involved in knowledge transfer to clients around the world.

Dr. Yeona Jang
Dr. Yeona Jang has over 15 years of consulting and management experience in IT (Information Technology) and KM (Knowledge Management) as a senior executive and decision maker in companies in industries as widely varying as telecommunications, financial services, utility, and IT services industries. Her research focus includes advancing the understanding of KM-to-Value pathways to help organizations shape the future and drive changes for greater efficiency and innovation in the 21st century knowledge economy: Not "what worked in the past and how do we repeat it?" but "what's necessary for the future and how do we create it?"

Prior to joining the Desautels Faculty of Management at the McGill University in June 2008, she worked at Samsung SDS as CIO (Chief Information Officer) and CKO (Chief Knowledge Officer). She led collaboration-oriented knowledge-embedded business innovation initiatives to help the company unlock its collaboration capacity and accelerate the process of transforming themselves into a Global Top-Ten player in the IT service industry. Samsung SDS's long-term commitment to innovative knowledge management is recognized globally as a recipient of the MAKE (Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise) award seven (7) years in a row.

Dr Jay Liebowitz
Dr. Liebowitz has recently accepted the Orkand Chair in Management and Technology at University of Maryland University College (UMUC). He is ranked one of the top 10 knowledge management researchers/practitioners out of 11,000 worldwide.  Prior to UMUC, he was a Professor in the Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University.  Prior to joining Hopkins, he was the first Knowledge Management Officer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.  Dr. Liebowitz has also served as the Robert W. Deutsch Distinguished Professor of Information Systems at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, Professor of Management Science at George Washington University, and Chair of Artificial Intelligence at the U.S. Army War College.  He is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Expert Systems With Applications: An International Journal (published by Elsevier), which had about 1,600 paper downloads per day worldwide last year.  He is a Fulbright Scholar, IEEE-USA Federal Communications Commission Executive Fellow, and Computer Educator of the Year (International Association for Computer Information Systems).  He has published over 35 books and over 200 papers on knowledge management, intelligent systems, and IT management.   He has consulted and lectured worldwide for numerous organizations.

Dr. Rivadávia Correa Drummond de Alvarenga Neto

Rivadávia Correa Drummond de Alvarenga Neto is Professor at Fundação Dom Cabral (
www.fdc.org.br), a Brazilian business school ranked the 16th best business school in the world and the best one in Latin America according to the Financial Times Executive Education ranking 2008. He holds a PhD in Information Science and is currently working in his Post Doctoral Program at the Faculty of Information of  the University of Toronto, Canada, hosted by Dr. Chun Wei Choo. Rivadavia speaks regularly on the subject of knowledge management and he conducted the first in depth qualitative study within the Brazilian organizational context in 2005. Since 2001 he's been working with many international firms, such as Petrobras, Embrapa, ONS, Astra Zeneca, Linde, ABN Amro Bank, Anglo American, among others. His newest book has just been released in Brazil (Knowledge Management in Organizations, Editora Saraiva, São Paulo, Brazil, 2008); e-mail rivadavia@fdc.org.br

Dan is a lecturer and program director for the MSc program in Industrial Management and Economics at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. He teaches regularly within Operations Management, Project Management and Knowledge Management. He is also program director at Chalmers Advanced Management Programs where he manages the Executive Master in Technology Management Program as well as the International Management of Production Program conducted in Europe and Asia. His research interest includes knowledge management issues in international settings and he has been working with several Swedish-based multinational companies such as AB Volvo, Saab Automobile, SonyEricsson, Ericsson, IKEA, SKF and AtlasCopco.

Jean-Pierre Briffaut
Jean-Pierre joined TELECOM & Management SudParis  as a professor in 1989. After receiving his M Sc degree in Physics from Lille University he qualified for a state doctorate in solid state physics from Paris University. From 1971 to 1987 he worked for Philips in the Netherlands and France. His current research interest focuses on the impact of ICT on the way business operations are conducted and controlled in terms of virtual collaboration and decision-making. Jean-Pierre served on the experts group of the unit F4 ‘’new working environments’’ of the Directorate General Information Society and Media (EC).

Kevin O’Sullivan
Dr.
Kevin J. O Sullivan is assistant professor of management and director of global academic administration at the New York Institute of Technology, USA. He has more than 16 years of IT experience in multinational firms and consulting both in the private and public sector in American, Middle Eastern, European, and Far Eastern cultures. Dr. O Sullivan has delivered professional seminars to global Fortune 100 organizations on subjects such as global collaboration, knowledge management, information security, and multinational information systems. His research and development interests include knowledge management, intellectual capital security, and information visualization. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Information and Knowledge Management and is associate editor of VINE: The Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems. He has published a wide range of articles on specific topics on Knowledge Management and Intellectual Capital as well as book chapters and recently edited the text entitled “Strategic Knowledge Management in Multinational Organizations”.

Dr. John Girard
John Girard is an Associate Professor of Business Administration and Business Information Technology at Minot State University where he is lead professor for knowledge management, director of a graduate executive program, a faculty senator, and active in community affairs. John teaches graduate and undergraduate courses and is actively researching the relationships that exist between information anxiety, organizational memory loss, and contemporary knowledge management theories. John is a graduate of Touro University International, where he completed a PhD in Business Administration and an MBA with an Information Technology Management concentration and the University of Manitoba where he achieved a BSc with a Computer Science major. In addition, John is a graduate of Canadian Forces College, Toronto and the Royal Military College of Science in the United Kingdom.

John speaks regularly on the subject of knowledge management and how enterprises may reap the benefits of creating and exchanging organizational knowledge. He has spoken in the US, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East at such events as KM World,

Sheryl Buckley
Sheryl Buckley is a Deputy Head of Department in the Department of Business IT, at the University of Johannesburg, specializing in Business Information Systems, Financial Information Systems, Information and Knowledge Management, Management Information Systems and Business Fundamentals.  Sheryl previously taught at a High School for 10 years and at a Technical College for 10 years before joining the University in 2000.  Sheryl is a member of the Computer Society of South Africa, the South African Institute for Management Sciences and the Knowledge Management Practitioners Group.  She is also a Examiner for the Gauteng Department of Education.  Currently working towards her PhD in Knowledge sharing in communities of practice in HE institutions.

Roy Williams
Roy Williams develops and manages e-learning and knowledge management for the University of Portsmouth, and for w.w associates in Reading, both in the U.K. His research includes the practical design development of knowledge and e-learning systems, the theory of knowledge and knowledge management, discourse analysis and semiotics, and the application of discourse analysis and complex adaptive systems theories to management and development issues. He is actively involved in the European Conferences on e-learning and Knowledge Management, and edits the Electronic Journal of e-learning. He has held posts of Visiting Professor of Education, Professor and Chair of Communication, and Executive Board Member and CEO of the South African Broadcast Regulator. He has also worked extensively in international development in literacy, distance education, media, HIV/AIDS, and national and international policy

Dr Jose M. Viedma
Jose M. Viedma is a Doctor of Industrial Engineering, a Graduate in Economics and Professor of Business Administration at the U.P.C., Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain. He teaches on the subject of knowledge management, intellectual capital management and organisational learning.  He has held top executive positions in computer services and management consultancy firms.  He is the president of “Intellectual Capital Management Systems”, the founding partner of “ M & A Fusiones y Adquisiciones” and  the Independent Director of Interlace.  He is a regular speaker in International conferences and congresses on Knowledge and Intellectual Capital Management such as World Congress on Intellectual Capital and Innovation and European Conference on Knowledge Management. His current field of research and interest is focused on knowledge management and intellectual capital management and he has consulted and developed management frameworks and systems world wide on those matters.
