About Ottawa
The Ottawa Region, covering an area 4,662 square kilometres (1,800 square miles) in size, is unique in its history, geography and lifestyle.

It offers a wide variety of urban attractions: many of Canada's best museums and cultural facilities, as well as the Parliament Buildings and other historical structures and major institutions, are located in the Capital area.

Some entertainment venues include the elegant Casino du Lac-Leamy, or you can spend an evening cheering on one of Ottawa's professional hockey or baseball teams. The Corel Centre, home to the Ottawa Senators, also presents big name concerts and skating extravaganzas, while the National Arts Centre plays host to hundreds of theatre, dance and orchestra performances each year. Dance clubs or regular pubs include Ottawa's ByWard Market and Elgin Street. These are two of the more popular night spots.
