| | Conference accommodation | Conference accommodation in Laval is provided by the Hôtel Ibis "le relais d'Armor". The ACI support team will be staying at this hotel. Should there be a requirement for ground transport to the conference dinner, this hotel will be the pickup and drop off point. Google estimates the Hotel to be about 1.4Km from the conference venue and an 18 minute walk. Note: There is a limited availability at the hotel so it is advisable to book well in advance. Reservations received after 4th May 2012 are subject to availability. | | Conference dinner venue | The dinner venue for ECIW 2012 is at Le Bistro de Paris in Laval. Your place at the conference dinner is included in your registration fee. | | General information | Laval is located on the River Mayenne in the région called the Pays de la Loire in north-west central France (around the Loire Valley). It is the centre of an urban area of about 100,000 inhabitants. The town is historically a manufacturer of fine linens, and there are also foundries. Laval is also home of the Laval and Mayenne Technology Park, where firms working in electronics, computing and peripherals, food technology, veterinary pharmaceuticals, virtual reality, audiovisual productions, patents, marketing and a resource centre are all to be found in modern buildings. It is also an important centre for the dairy industry, producing cheeses, UHT milk, and yoghurt. There is a market in the town centre every Tuesday and Saturday, held near the Palais de Justice.
