The University layout can be viewed here as well as a detailed plan of the ground floor | | University information | In 1990 the Graduate School of Industrial Studies in Thessaloniki was renamed to University of Macedonia Economic and Social Sciences and at the same time three new departments were established which were: The University of Macedonia is located in Thessaloniki, 156 Egnatia Street. It is housed in a group of buildings with a total area of approximately 40.000 square meters. In 1996 two departments were established: Department of Balkan, Slavonic and Oriental Studies and the Department of Music Science and Art. Finally in 2004 two more departments were established: the Department of Marketing and Operations Management and the Department of Technology Management. According to the Establishing act of the Department of Applied Informatics, its mission is to promote and further develop the science of informatics, with special emphasis on the development of systems for managerial and economic applications and the training of high level executives for the country's needs. The programme of studies includes courses from the disciplines of Computer Science, Economics and Business Administration. The department's graduates are well qualified to meet the demanding requirements of the modern business world. Towards the Hotel, the 8 bus is also utilised,getting on the bus stop in front of the University (at the opposite side of the road) getting off at the Orizomili bus stop which is opposite the Grand Hotel.
