The 8th European Conference on Information Warfare and Security will be held at the Military Academy in Lisbon under the sponsorship of the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal.

The conference will address elements of both theory and practice of all aspects of Information Warfare and Security, and offers an opportunity for academics, practitioners and consultants involved in the domain to come together and exchange ideas.  The programme for the event will include an extensive range of peer-reviewed papers, including presentations from leaders in the field.

The Military Academy is a military establishment of university higher education level which develops activities of teaching, research and support to the communities with the purpose of training and forming Officers for the Portuguese Army and the Republican National Guard.

Lisbon is the westernmost capital in mainland Europe. It is located in the west of the country, on the Atlantic Ocean coast at the point where the river Tagus flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Its roots go back to ancient times with Phoenician influences that can be traced back to 1,200 BC

Summer is a great time to visit Portugal, we hope that you will be able to be part of ECIW 2009 and we look forward to welcoming you to Lisbon.
