Neil Barton
Neil Barton is an industry practitioner who specialises
in benchmarking performance at corporate IT departments. As Benchmarking
& Competitive Pricing Manager at Hewlett-Packard Services, he manages the
processes through which benchmarks are used to govern the price of multi-year
IT outsourcing contracts. He has previously worked for the three major
benchmarking consultancies, Gartner Group, Compass, and META Group. His
early career was spent in development of IT systems from theatre ticketing to
railway signalling. He was also Technical
Marketing Director for an IT vendor in Silicon Valley
before moving into consultancy. He spoke at ECITE in 2002 and is the
author of Fair Market Price, the definitive paper on contractual
benchmarking.
