The Royal Netherlands Academy of Science or Koninklijke
Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen has a mission to promote scientific
research in the Netherlands.
The fundamental research carried out today will provide a basis for the
applied research of tomorrow and, in turn, for the practical application of
science in the future.
The Institute is located in the 17th-century Trippenhuis
building located in the heart of Amsterdam on
the banks of the Grand Canal.
