| Arcada University of Applied Sciences is privileged to host the 4th European Conference on Intellectual Capital in the capital of Finland, Helsinki. The goals of ECIC 2012 are to provide a platform for presenting different academic and professional approaches (i.e. conceptual, empirical, managerial, multidisciplinary and case studies etc.) and discussions on recent developments and the outlook for the future in the field of intellectual capital management and its related fields, in Europe and around the world. Further, to provide an opportunity for scholars, practitioners and doctoral students to have their contributions to theory and practice reviewed, encouraged and commented on within a supportive academic and professional community of colleagues from diverse disciplinary and international backgrounds.
We look forward to welcoming you to Finland, its capital Helsinki, and to Arcada University of Applied Sciences. With your support, we are sure to make ECIC 2012 an enjoyable way to increase your own intellectual capital.

Papers presented at the conference will be published in the conference proceedings subject to author registration and payment. Selected papers presented at the conference will also be considered for publication in a special issue of the Electronic Journal of Knowledge Management. It is important to note that travel arrangements should not be made based on the presentation slot shown in any preliminary programme as this is subject to change. A final programme is posted a few days before the conference.
Applications are still being accepted to join the conference committee.
Note to Authors: Due to the large number of papers expected for this conference, the committee only allows an author to present one paper. Therefore if multiple papers are accepted for presentation different co-authors need to present each paper. Author registration must be completed by 19 March 2012.

Congratulations to Deborah Branswijck and Patricia Everaert of Ghent University College, Belgium, whose paper entitled “Intellectual Capital Disclosure Commitment: a Myth or Reality?” was voted Best PhD Paper and to Dolores Sanchez Bengoa of Leeds Metropolitan University, UK whose poster “Tools for Knowledge Sharing in Cultures with High Power Distance” was voted Best Poster. The winning poster can be seen by clicking the icon on the left.
