We are pleased to welcome you in Como for the 13th European Conference on e-Government. We hope you will enjoy the conference with its high value presentations and the opportunity it will offer you to exchange ideas with colleagues and international experts.

ECEG 2013 takes place exactly 10 years after the European Ministerial eGovernment Conference that was held in Como (Cernobbio) in 2003. The Ministerial Declaration that was adopted in Cernobbio set a shared user-centred vision of innovation in the public sector that has been at the center of the European policies for E-Governemnt in the following years. At 10 years distance from that Declaration ECEG 2013 will give the opportunity for a critical evaluation of the achievement of the objectives stated in 2003 and the evolution of E-Government worldwide.

We also wish you will enjoy your stay in Como, with its historical monuments, the beauty of its landscape and the charming atmosphere of its lake.

Publication opportunity

Papers accepted for the conference will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to author registration and payment. The proceedings have an ISBN and ECEG proceedings are listed and/or rated by multiple organisations worldwide.

Selected paper
s that have been presented at the Conference will be considered for publication in the Electronic Journal of eGovernment. The latest issue of the journal is available to read online. In addition selected papers will be published in the Journal of E-Government Studies and Best Practices

Conference status
The early preliminary programme has now been released and is available to view on the programme webpage. A .pdf version can be downloaded from the participant download section at the top of the At a Glance webpage. It is important to note that travel arrangements should not be made based on the presentation slot shown in any preliminary programme. If you have a specific need to speak on a particular day, please email the Conference Manager, Sue Nugus, who will try to accommodate you.

Abstract submission is now closed. A list of the abstracts selected for submission as full papers receive prior to the abstract submission deadline appears on the abstracts selected webpage. To protect the integrity of the double-blind peer review process, abstract titles and author details are separated. Titles are listed in no particular order and author names are listed alphabetically by lead author surname.

The conference organisers have received multiple requests to extend the deadline. The Conference Committee has kindly agreed to extend the Abstract Submission deadline until Thursday 6 December 2012.

The Conference was launched at ECEG 2012 in Barcelona. The call for papers closes on
22 November 2012. (extended until 6 December) Full papers are due not later than 10 January 2013 and should be submitted as attachments by email to the conference manager. Full details are in the acceptance email. Please read the submission guidelines page and model paper and ensure that you return the paper checklist and copyright form. Please note, earlier submission of the full paper helps us to manage the review process in a timely manner, so if your paper is ready before 10 January 2013, we would be delighted to receive it early. This is of particular importance if you will need a visa to attend the conference.

Applications are being accepted to join the conference committee.

Note to Authors: Due to the large number of papers expected for this conference, the committee only allows an author to present one paper. However, if multiple papers are accepted for publication and presentation, each paper requires a separate registration fee. Author registration and payment must be completed by 9 May 2013

A prize will be awarded
to the best Poster and
the best PhD paper
