		<title>PlayLearn 2011 - Playful Learning Media Exhibition</title>

		<description><![CDATA[<P>Running in conjunction with the 5th European Conference on Games-Based Learning (ECGBL 2011), the first Playful Learning Media Exhibition (PlayLearn 2011) aims to bring together school teachers and students with creative teams, higher education students and researchers of learning media, Greek learning media creators and experienced creators and researchers from abroad to exhibit, view and discuss original productions in playful learning media, analog (educational toys, educational board games, playful educational narratives), digital (video, animation, digital storytelling, interactive applications), and any other transmedial formats. <BR><BR>Organised by the Laboratory of New Technologies in Communication, Education and the Mass Media and the Joint MA Programme on Information and Communication Technologies for Education, with the support of the University Research Institute in Applied Communication (URIAC) and the cooperation of the Hellenic American Union (HAU), the exhibition will be open to ECGBL and PlayLearn participants on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st October and to the general public on Saturday 22nd October. <BR><BR>Expressions of interest are invited from higher education students, designers and researchers of playful learning media of any format, school teachers and students, and especially young creators and independent teams, who wish to participate with their original productions in the Playful Learning Media 2011 exhibition, in order to demonstrate their work and at the same timecollect feedback from experienced learning media practitioners as well as school teachers and students and the general public. Learning media productions may address pre-school and school children, young or adult users, and there are no constraints concerning learning contents,<BR>production genre or the analog, digital or transmedial platforms used. 		<title>Serious Games Showcase and Best Practice Exhibition</title>

		<description><![CDATA[<P>Expressions of Interest due tomorrow.</P><P>This three day showcase and exhibition&nbsp;runs alongside ECGBL 2011 for the first two days and then opens to the general public for the final day. The goal is to present the latest developments in the design of serious games and celebrate the use of games and game technology in teaching and education. </P><P>The organisers, the Laboratory of New Technologies in Communication, Education and Mass Media of the University of Athens and the Hellenic American Union, invite games designers, companies, students and researchers of digital games to submit 1-2 page expressions of interest to Maria Saridaki at <A href="mailto:msaridaki@media.uoa.gr">msaridaki@media.uoa.gr</A> outlining the content and (possible) application of their game along with screenshots and a demo/url of the game if available. 		<title>Serious Games Showbase and Best Practices 2011 (SGS-Best 2011)</title>

		<description><![CDATA[<P>The University of Athens NTLab (Host Institute for ECGBL 2011) is arranging a <FONT size=2>Serious Games Showcase &amp; Best Practices&nbsp;(SGS-Best 2011) event, to run in conjuction with ECGBL 2011. The event, chaired by Assistant&nbsp;Professor Constantinos Mourlas, seeks to bring together good examples&nbsp;of serious games, exhibit them for the conference participants and the&nbsp;general public as well as give an opportunity for open feedback with respect to their quality, fun, usability, and other dimensions. The event will run during Thursday&nbsp;20, Friday 21 October 2011 (in parallel with the conference, for ECGBL&nbsp;participants) and Saturday October 22 2011 (post conference day, for the&nbsp;general public). </FONT></P><P><FONT size=2>The first annoucement can be downloaded from the <A href="http://academic-conferences.org/ecgbl/ecgbl2011/ecgbl11-timetable.htm">programme page </A>of the ECGBL website and first expressions of interest are required by 20th July 2011.<BR><BR></P></FONT>]]></description>
